Ashland-Greenwood Teams Head into Conference Competitions

The Ashland-Greenwood High School athletic teams are poised to head into Nebraska Capitol Conference action beginning Saturday, January 24 when the wrestling team competes in the Capitol Conference Wrestling Tournament at Raymond Central. The meet is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM and the Bluejays are optimistic that they will have a good showing at the tournament.
The boys basketball team will then head to Syracuse on Monday, January 26 for the first round of the Nebraska Capitol Conference Basketball tournament. Game time will be 7 PM and they will enter the tournament as the 7th seed overall. The boys have been very competitive in all of their games this year and expect to be equally competitive in this opening round contest. If they win Monday they will play on Thursday evening at 7:45 PM in Valley against the winner of the Monday contest between Fort Calhoun and DC West .
The high school girls basketball team will take the stage on Tuesday evening at 7:00 PM at home against Fort Calhoun. The Ashland-Greenwood girls are 3rd seed in the tournament. If they win on Tuesday they will compete against the winner of the Bennington v. Raymond Central team on Friday in Valley at 7:45 PM. Finals and Consolation Finals are set for Saturday at DC West High in Valley as well.
