All-Conference and President's Awards

Academic Stars Shine

By: Natalie Anderson

April 21, 2009

On April 17th 2009, the high school gym was packed with Ashland-Greenwood's brightest and most accomplished students. They’ve worked all year long to keep their grades up and their minds open to the classes that they take. The grades speak the truth, and this year’s ceremony was bursting with distinguished students.

Induction into the National Honor Society Induction Ceremonies is always something to be proud of, and this year 25 sophomores and two seniors took the oath for  this prestigious society. In addition, awards were given out for first and second honors, as well as the top 5% in each class.

Academic All-Conference Awards and Presidents Award for Educational Excellence were the highlight of the night for the seniors. Jessie Ferris, Stefanie Hoffman, Emily Judds, Katie Kresak, Clint Pettit, Brian Romans, Amanda Sliva, Nicole Starns, Vanessa Starns, Ellen Sundermeier, Hope Taylor, Cole Washburn and Shelby Wigle all earned their spot in the limelight.

Although another school year is coming to an end, to these dedicated and hardworking students, summer is only a mere break from their academic excellence. Next year will bring new academic stars, and we will keep honoring the success that these intelligent and punctual students bring to Ashland-Greenwood Public Schools. Congratulations to all who received awards and keep up the good work!
