The Ashland-Greenwood senior high band and choir rounded out the 2008-2009 school year with sounds of music. Family and friends came out Tuesday to get a taste of what the jazz band, concert band, show choir, and concert choir had to offer. From John Edmondson to John Philip Sousa the program ran without a glitch.
Instrumental Director Jonathan Jaworski felt the music department this year at Ashland-Greenwood was “outstanding” and he is truly looking forward to what next fall may offer. Jaworski expects an increase in band members and feels the trend will only continue with new additions to its marching band and color guard.
Senior Emily Judds felt the program ran smoothly and has been continually impressed with what both Mrs.Yunker (Choral Director) and Mr. Jaworski have done with the music program this year. Judds also performed a Beatle Medley with her father Thomas Judds right before the senior high choir ended their show with the great Bohemian Rhapsody.
Mr. Jaworski and Mrs. Yunker stated at the conclusion of the show’s program: “Thank you to everybody for a great school year! The successes of our students would not be possible without the support of the Ashland-Greenwood School District, its administrators, teachers, Music Boosters, and parents. The year has come and gone so fast…we have all learned a lot, and look forward to more years of teaching, learning, and musical excellence!
