D.A.R.E. Graduation Held
March 08, 2010
The 5th grade D.A.R.E. Program concluded with a graduation on February 26. Students spent 14 weeks learning about decision making skills, how to combat negative peer pressure, drug use and misuse, bullying and finding healthy alternatives to drugs and alcohol. Officer Ryan Brady from the Ashland Police Department served as the D.A.R.E. instructor. Officer Brady worked with the students in their classrooms for an hour each week during the program.
As a culminating activity, students are asked to write an essay explaining what they learned during D.A.R.E. and how the program impacted their life. Three essays were selected to be shared during graduation. The essay winners were Riley Hannah, Zoe Vest and Faylene Frampton.
