1st Grade Celebrates 100th Day of School
February 08, 2010
February 2nd was a busy day for first grade students. Not only did they learn about Groundhog Day, but they also celebrated the 100th day of school. This included several activities centered around the number 100. Some of the activities included stories about the number 100, counting to 100, and estimating how many times they could jump up and down in 100 seconds.
Many of the activities focused on skills students have been practicing throughout the first one hundred days of school. Students also brought a favorite treat consisting of 100 items. The treats were all mixed together to create “gorp” that could be shared with the whole class. The day was not only filled with fun activities, but it also gave students a chance to reflect back on their accomplishments throughout the first one hundred days of school.
