Middle School Students Get Healthy

February 10, 2010

As part of our Middle School awareness on nutrition and exercise students are participating in “Fuel Up and Play 60” sponsored by the NFL and the National Dairy Council. Students can go on-line and record the amount of milk, vegetables, fruit, and whole grains they consume daily. They also have the opportunity to record the amount of time they spend exercising daily  Middle school students receive incentives for logging their healthy lifestyles.

In order to promote the healthy benefits of milk middle school homerooms competed in a milk mustache contest. Each homeroom was able to choose one student to represent them in the challenge.  Each student in the winning homeroom received a cheese charm to go on their backpack and bracelets, which were provided by the AGPS School Foundation through a grant. Mrs. Pinkall’s homeroom was the winner with Bryce as their winning representative.
