Early Dimissal Planned for Thursday, March 17
Elementary Dismisses at 1:30 PM and Middle/High School at 1:40 PM
Launch the media gallery 1 playerSchool will be dismissed early on Thursday, March 17th so that staff may attend the funeral services for long time employee Shirley Simpson. Mrs. Simpson passed away on Monday. The Elementary School will dismiss at 1:30 PM and the Middle and High Schools will dismiss at 1:40 PM.
Mrs. Simpson worked for the district as a secretary in the High School Counseling Office for almost 37 years. During that time, she worked closely with many students in assisting them in enrolling in school and classes as well as helping with college applications and scholarships. She played an important role in the lives of many Ashland-Greenwood young people. Shirley's late husband Bob was also a teacher and coach in the school system.
Funeral services for Mrs. Simpson have been set for the American Lutheran Church in Ashland for Thursday at 3:00 PM.
