Janay Williams, a senior at Ashland-Greenwood was awarded the 2017 Southeast Community College North Region SENCAP Outstanding Student of the Year, at a SENCAP event awards ceremony held at SCC, in Lincoln, on April 12th.  SENCAP stands for Southeast Nebraska Career Academy Program, where students take classes in Health, Business, Information Technology areas and earn dual credit, which means they receive high school and college credit for the courses that they take.  Janay began her dual credit experience the second semester of her sophomore year, successfully completing the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) course.  Since that time Janay has worked as a CNA at the Louisville Care Center.

Janay continued to take dual credit options at AGHS and also completed courses at SCC the summer between her junior and senior year.  She will graduate with 40+ college credit hours that will transfer to Creighton University, where she plans to study pre-medicine, then medical school, and work toward becoming a neurosurgeon.  Pretty impressive!!!

Congratulations Janay for your award and all the hard work you have put forth in everything you have done at Ashland-Greenwood Public Schools. From being an AG Bluejay, to your future as a Creighton Bluejay, you have certainly used your wings to fly and accomplish great things!  We are so proud of you!!!  #AGPOSSIBLE shines again!!!
