SkillsUSA Students Compete in Grand Island

    Five Ashland-Greenwood students competed in this year's Nebraska state SkillsUSA competition. SkillsUSA is a student organization focused on the skilled and technical trades. Tyler Anderson, Will vonRentzell, and Conner Goff competed in the Welding Fabrication as a team. The object is to create a product based on the blueprints given. These students needed to create a fold-able table with welds in the proper locations. The team placed 9th out of 20. Trent Nafzinger competed in Cabinetmaking and placed 19th out of 25. Trent had to create a bathroom medicine cabinet based off of plans he received on competition day. Gannon Clevenger built and tested a CO2 Car and a balsa bridge. Gannon placed 11th out of 32 with his car and 5th out of 29 with his bridge.  ​​
