4th Grade Presents "Sir Bookworm"
Friends and family enjoyed the show!
Students in fourth grade entertained friends and family members by performing a one-act play entitled “Sir Bookworm" during Friends and Family Day on September 14. "Sir Bookworm" is a story about a boy who has lost interest in reading books. Sir Bookworm enlists the help of the boy's childhood book characters to remind him of how much fun reading can be. Dressed in costumes and displaying a picture of their character, students played many characters including Cinderella, The Cat in the Hat, Paul Bunyan, Peter Rabbit, Snow White, Laura Ingalls, and the Grinch. Practicing and performing the play helps develop oral language skills, comprehension and build confidence in performing and speaking in front of others.
4th grade students also shared their Nebraska map skills using an over-sized map which is an extension of their studies on Nebraska. Friends and family participated in math games and activities as well.
