Celebrating Our Centennial Year
We had a fun-filled day celebrating AGES’s centennial year! Our elementary school building is100 years old and opened during the 1920-1921 school year. Students had fun learning about our school’s history and seeing the many changes that have occurred over the years. A video was created and shared with students – click on the link below to learn more. Special artifacts from the Ashland Historical Society were on display and copies of book entitled The First 150 Years: Ashland, NE 1857-2007 were shared, as well. Students tested their learning by playing a BINGO game that focused on our building’s history.
Commemorative t-shirts were also available for purchase and each class took a picture outside with a grand lawn card. Birthday treats, 100th year cookies, were enjoyed by all! A big thank you goes out to the elementary PTO and Ashland Historical Society for their help with this important event.
