Mallory N., Samantha M. and Nathan J. place at the Strategic Air and Space Museum Science Fair

Eighteen finalist from the Ashland Greenwood Science Fair had an exciting day at the Strategic Air and Space Museum's Science Fair.  The students arrived at the museum around 8:30 A.M. and the first round of judging took place from 9:15 to 11:30.  The students presented the results of their project using the steps of the scientific method to three different judges.  Before lunch the students got a surprise visit from Clay Anderson.

Clay Anderson went around and spoke to each student about their project.
Clay visited with each student about their projects and signed autographs and took photographs.  After lunch the second round of judging took place and those students who didn't make it to the second round made airplanes and flew the airplanes in one of the big airplane hangars.  At 1:00 PM the students went into the theater area and listened to Astronaut Clay Anderson tell about his adventure in space and watch a video with Clay adding commentary.  At 2:00PM  Clay presented the awards to the finalist.  There were approximately 120 projects from eight schools from 4-8th grade.  Mallory N. received a certificate and medal for 2nd place and judges' choice ribbons were presented to Samantha M. and Nathan J
