6th Grade Holds Annual Science Fair
The annual 6th grade science fair was held February 3rd at the Ashland Greenwood Commons. Judges from the Ashland Rotary and students from AG high school had the difficult task of picking the top projects to go to the Southeast Regional.
Students started these projects by finding their topic back in September then they did research, designed their experimenting procedures, ran their experiment at least three times controlling all the variables except their one independent variable, they analyzed their data and verified if their hypothesis was supported or not supported.
The students presented their projects in front of their peers and their peers helped critique the presentation to help make the project better for the local judging. The top projects will move on to the 2020 Junior Science Academy of Nebraska Southeast regional science fair that will be held at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln on March 16th.
The participants that will be attending this competition: Kade Brauckmuller, Logan Fangmeyer, Megan Gerdes, Joseph Greise, Gracie Hofmeister, Caleb Kasper, Zoe Lindley, Cael Smith, Robert Wilson, Jacob Zalesky, Paxton Beranek, Noah Craroll, Matthew McConnell, and Jaxon Powell. Six projects will be picked at the Southeast Regional grades 6-8th to go on to the state competition.
