Author Visit Inspires Students Across All Grades
Students at our school enjoyed a memorable and inspiring author visit today, made possible through the generosity of the Great Plains Literacy Festival in Seward, Nebraska.
Middle School students had the opportunity to hear from acclaimed author Lindsey Stoddard. During her visit, she encouraged students to discover their own unique writing styles and shared insights into her creative process. She also introduced students to her books Just Like Jackie and Bea Is Blended, sparking thoughtful conversations about storytelling, voice, and personal expression.
Meanwhile, primary and intermediate students were delighted by a visit from author and illustrator David Ezra Stein. He captivated young audiences with an engaging puppet show and gave students a behind-the-scenes look at how he brings his stories to life through illustration. His interactive presentation made reading and creativity come alive in a fun and memorable way.
We are incredibly grateful to the Great Plains Literacy Festival for funding this special opportunity. Experiences like these help foster a love of reading and writing in our students and leave a lasting impact on their learning.
