Students Earn Honors at Scholastic State Art Competition

Twenty-two artworks produced by Ashland-Greenwood art students have received recognition in the 2025-26 Scholastic State Art Awards competition, organized by the Omaha Public Schools Art Department. Ashland students competed with entries from across the state of Nebraska for state rankings. Works were judged by a panel of art experts who looked for originality, technical skill, and emergence of personal vision or voice. AG students received 5 Gold (first), 5 Silver (second), and 12 Honorable Mention (third) Awards. Gold Key winners will go on to compete at the national level. There will be an in-person reception for award winners on Saturday, March 28, 2026; snow date April 4. Work will be on display in the OPS TAC Building, 3215 Cuming St. Omaha, NE 68131, March 9 - April 17.

Earning Gold Key Awards were Eleanor Hruska, Taylor Konen, Hazel Rice, and Dani Billings.

Earning Silver Key Awards were Eleanor Hruska, Hazel Rice, Hailee Pleiss, Avery Grauerholz and Logan Winder.

Earning Honorable Mentions were Elenaor Hruska, Taylor Konen, Hailee Pleiss, Avery Grauerholz, Vanity Laughlin, Kaylee Mack, Madge Hopkins, Echo Hansen, LIbby Lancaster, Atzi Espinoza, Diego Espinoza and Bryson Mattila.
