Childfind

The State of Nebraska and federal law guarantees free and appropriate education for all children with special education needs in:

  • speech & language
  • hearing & visual impairments
  • mental disabilities
  • specific learning disabilities
  • behavior disorders
  • physical impairments

School districts are required to provide educational services for resident children with disabilities ages 0-21.  Patrons are asked to contact the school if they know of a child needing services. Call to learn more about the programs at 402-944-2128.

The school district retains special education records for five years after the completion of special education services to students.  These are records which families have already received a copy. Following this five year period, these special education records are destroyed.  Families who want to retain their child’s inactive special education file should contact the school no later than September 20th. (NDE Rule 51 009.03).
