Nebraska Department of Education’s 2025 School Emergency Mapping Grant

Ashland-Greenwood Public Schools was recently notified that our application was selected for the Nebraska Department of Education’s 2025 School Emergency Mapping Grant. This grant is designed to enhance the safety and security of Nebraska’s students, staff, and visitors by implementing a comprehensive mapping data system.

Through this funding, our district will receive Collaborative Response Graphic (CRG) maps that offer accurate, gridded overlays and detailed floor plans of our school buildings and properties. These tools will improve emergency response times by equipping first responders with essential, real-time visual information.

These maps will not only support first responders but also empower our staff to be better prepared in the event of an emergency, reinforcing our district-wide commitment to student safety.

We are grateful to the Nebraska Department of Education for prioritizing school safety and to the emergency management professionals who will help implement this system. This grant is an important step forward in our ongoing efforts to maintain a secure learning environment. We look forward to integrating this technology into our comprehensive safety protocols in the upcoming school year.
